I had read some positive feedback about Supercat and really wanted to try it out for myself. At £6 it's a very reasonably priced liner so I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and plonked it in my Boots basket.
I have always worn liner on my upper lid but I'm relatively new to winged liner so I bought this to practice with.
I was using Rimmel London Waterproof Gel Eyeliner but found that although it stays put the colour does fade towards the end of the day or night. To be honest I really wouldn't want to try and touch up liner 'mid night out' as the results would be catastrophic. I had high hopes that Supercat would last a little longer.
This liquid black eyeliner pen should be easy to apply with a firm nib. It's gentle on the eyelid but I did struggle with precision compared to my Rimmel liner that comes with a little brush in the lid. I prefer a skinny black line and used the fine point as suggested on the box. At first I did find this tricky but after a few days I got the hang of it. The colour is very black when first applied and doesn't need to be built up. However I found that it did seem to spread into my eyeshadow and one day I got home from work to find the outer edges smudged all over my face.
In theory Supercat should be the best but in reality I have already headed back to the Rimmel...
Have you tried Supercat? What's your favourite liner?
XxX
Shame that it smudged :( I just have come to the conclusion that these felt tip liners aren't so great.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Need to experiment with more gel liners xx
DeleteOh no that's such a shame. It's always annoying getting excited about a product after reviews and to find that it's not for you. My favourite right now is the Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Liner, it stays a surprisingly long time for a felt tip end.

I know, I was quite gutted! Thanks hun, will look out for that next time I'm shopping xx
DeleteHeart Soap and Glory but also find their cosmetics can be a bit hit and miss! Lovely review though, I love the pretty pictures :D x
ReplyDeleteThanks Violet! I've only tried this and Sexy Mother Pucker. It's not really really bad, just not the best for me xx
Deleteoh I love this liner, I used it in a recent photo shoot, which I'll be doing a post on soon, and thought it was amazing, shame it smudged on you. what eyeshadow did you use? Sometimes waxy eyeshadows do make eyeliner bleed..
ReplyDeleteI've been using it with standard Too Faced powder shadows. I don't hate it, just hoped for a little more. I find the gel liners a little easier to apply but I struggle with eyeliner anyway! ;) xx
DeleteIm hopeless at applying eye-liner, so I haven't tried it xx

Ha ha, it took me months of doing it to get the line straight when I first started! Xx
DeleteAww that's a shame!! :( I've hear good things about this liner too xx
ReplyDeleteI know :( Some people obviously like it due the rave reviews I've read but for me I prefer gel, so far!! Xx
DeleteThis is amazing! And I definitely want to do a Soap and Glory haul soon! I know we can get some of their bath and body products at Sephora over here, I'll have to check and see about their cosmetics. I didn't even know they had any! I love products like this for when I'm in a rush .
ReplyDeleteHad such bad experiences with pen eyeliners :( they fade away! my makeup teacher said we should set them with eyeshadow but thats a pain in the butt!
ReplyDeleteAnyways I really wish to try the scrubs of this brand!
